Baby Zachary

Dear little Zachary,

You are awesome! You were not only chubby and sweet but you slept like a rock! We had such a great session and you rocked every pose (made me work for a few) and it helped that your Mama is beautiful too. Thank you for being a photographer’s dream and reminding me over and over why I love newborn photography so much!

Pretty In Pink

I love pink, when I had my little girls I was racing to the clothing racks with soft pink and delicate lace dresses. You can say I have a little fun shopping for my little girlies. This carries over to my littlest clients. For the wee little ladies I have to indulge in my pink obsession. This sweet little one was no exception, she was pretty in pink. Her hair was to die for (I love babies was crazy amounts of hair) and you could say it was one of those sessions you won’t forget because she was seriously yummy:)

Newborn baby girl with headband and hand resting on cheek

Saint John Sweetie

I prepare parents that newborn session do not always do as planned, babies have their own agenda. Sometimes they are awake, sometimes they are fussy and sometimes they are just not in the mode to have their sleep disturbed by a photographer…

This little star was none of these…she decided at the beginning of the session was born for the camera and was a dream. Delicate and tiny and posed beautifully, I was doing a little dance when I uploaded the images to my computer. I mean do they get more perfect than this?

twin newborn babies

Kingston Peninsula Twins

October’s casting call brought many new babies, and through a connection these sweet twins. It was my first opportunity to work with twins and you could say I was a little over the moon. My assistant and I made the drive early one brisk October morning. It was the perfect fall day. The leaves were changing from their summer greenery to blazing organs and reds. The air was cool and crisp. The ferry ride over was fun as we had not been on the ferry in many, many years.

When we arrived we set straight to work, and soon had two sweet little boys asleep and ready for their first photo session.

There is nothing more sweet than a newborn baby, except twins. They were perfection.

Baby sleeping with brown blanket

Sweet Little Man from Quispamsis

Last fall was not only busy for my business but busy from an educational standpoint. I love taking new courses and I try to take them during the late winter and spring when my business is a little quieter. However, there was an amazing newborn course coming up…and I knew it was going to be a game changer for me. I loved my newborn work but I wanted to take it to a new level, I wanted my work to not only highlight those first precious days but also to be art worthy.

The downside was that the course was taking place during October, my busiest month! The hectic pace was difficult to maintain, there were quite a few late nights editing and my family only saw the back of my head while I stared at the computer screen but the results were worth every penny! The course was detailed and taught me tiny tips and tricks that I was able to incorporate to my newborn sessions. The feedback I received from the instructors was invaluable

When I am taking a course and learning new techniques I like to do casting calls. The casting calls were very specific for the time frame, I was looking to only do what my course required and every session started 24 hours before with me studying like crazy my notes.

Danielle was one of those that answered the casting call for her little son, Hunter.

The Big Announcement!

I am so excited to announce this (and if you follow me on Facebook you already know) but after some long thought and a few things happening at the right times….I now have a studio. I could dance (and in fact I did) over the thought of being able to shoot year round for my clients, having my props for newborns at my fingers tips and being able to better serve my clients!

I will be sharing a studio with Lisa Garnet from Playful Moments. Lisa specializes in boudoir (and is AMAZING, check out her work!) and graciously offered to share her space with me. This is such an exciting starting point in my career!

The studio is located in the uptown region of Saint John at 89 Canterbury Street. Many moons ago, as a newly wed I lived uptown and loved every minute and it gives me such great pleasure to know that I will be working in this area again. This building is a restore historical building that has quite a bit of history to it, big beautiful windows and houses some of Saint John’s most creative artists!

After announcing on social media that the studio is opening I already have several bookings for newborns and cake smashes. I love collaborating on these sessions to make each one unique!

I am also excited that I will now be within driving distance to Moncton and Fredericton families!
