When Beyonce posted her unique maternity images, one of my clients posted on social media that she should have come to my studio, I agreed and this led her friend Michelle to find me. We booked her session for a few days afterwards because it was almost the last minute (she was due any day!).
Her session was so much fun! She is super sweet and has this friendly bubbly personality that makes working with her a joy. This incredibly beautiful Mama was celebrating her THIRD pregnancy! She looked amazing!! I love that she decided to celebrate this time in her life, it is so exciting and as Michelle said to me herself she didn’t realize how beautiful she looked when pregnant.
Form looking through my portfolio she knew she had to have her picture taken in the with deep wine coloured maternity gown in my studio. This gown has been a massive favourite of my expecting mamas!! The colour is gorgeous and rich and falters any skin tone or hair colour. Fun fact too I actually made this gown with a $6 worth of fabric and then 15 mins sewing time (truthfully in person it is a bit of a hot mess but photographs like a dream!).
The favourite image was the last one in this post, she was shocked at how the backlit portrait was so amazingly beautiful!
Only a few days after her session Michelle’s sweet baby arrived and she was back to the studio for another amazing session (will post in a  few weeks!)

Oh little Noah!! You are so loved and adored by your family! Your Mommy was so excited for your arrival and this session captured this brief moment as a newborn. So new and perfect, you snuggled up and had a little sleep while Jen and I posed you. Every baby is unique and you kept us giggling because you were determined to keep you little mouth open and sneaking in little smiles when you thought we were not looking. But I captured one!
You have the sweetest little ‘fur-brother’ who looks so big next to your tininess. Someday soon you will engulf him with your size but for a short period of time Monkey was the ‘big’ dog in the house!
I am so glad I had the chance to meet your wonderful to family and to snuggle you!

This fall, Quispamsis had the sweetest new baby girl join their ranks! She was just as cute as her older big brother (who was an awesome snuggler when it came time for his pictures with her!) and so fun and sweet to pose! She graced us with a few pictures with her eyes wide open but pretty soon we were able to lure her to sleep so we could have some fun with props and posing!
Posing newborns is safer and achieved easier when little ones are snoozing away. She was a dainty little thing and looked so tiny and sweet in the antique crate!
I am so glad I had the opportunity to meet this wonderful family and get to know them. I love knowing that the artwork in family’s homes is of their beautiful children!

I love I receive a call from someone who is wishing to gift a newborn session to someone that means to much to them! It is such an amazing gift capturing this brief and fleeting time, that is over before we realize. Little Ava’s Momma received the newborn session as a gift and we had some much fun with this tiny little baby girl at my Saint John photography studio!
She was tiny but so strong! I always work with an assistant because I feel it is the safest method when using props and working with unpredictable little ones. Ava was the poster child for needing an assistant! She moved a little with every breath and was so strong with lifting her head suddenly and straightening her little body. She made us work for every pose but it was worth all of the effort! She took our breath away with her perfection and sweetness.
I have been ordering new custom designed newborn outfits and the first had arrived from Mia Joy Couture and it fit her perfectly! Her session had beautiful variety in colours and textures.

December weddings can chance poor weather and I crossed my fingers it wouldn’t rain for Michael and Victoria/ However,  this wedding received memorable weather. The snow began early in the morning and continued to  fall all day, with high winds but it didn’t dampen the excitement of the bridal party and their family and friends. Victoria was extremely detailed and organized with her wedding and the number of beautiful holiday decorations and meaningful details was remarkable, from antique family pearls to including her beloved yorkie!
As we worked during the preparations and had the opportunity to get to know both families, we heard so many lovely words of kindness and love for the bride and groom. Everyone was so happy and excited for this couple to say their vows, the weather was just a minor distraction.
Their beautiful service which included a heartfelt prayer from the groom’s father and a speech from the groom himself. Michael gave a surprise speech and told his family and friends that his fairy tale was coming true and he would know what happened ‘ever after’ with his new bride. Tears were wiped and smiles were seen all around as they said their vows and declared themselves husband and wife.
We battled the roads and slow snow plows to return to the Algonquin for pictures and everyone made it in one piece! During the family pictures Michael’s mother said she was not gaining a daughter-in-law but rather a daughter. It was such an amazing experience to be able to witness this happy day with these two families.
Darkness ascended and the storm still kept up its fury, we headed to the Civic Centre in St Stephen. There we were greeted with the a gorgeous reception hall transformed into a beautiful holiday themed wedding. Every table was unique with different centrepieces, the tables were perfectly decorated. Soft warm lights lit the room and gave a sense of warmth to the guests as they dined. Throughout the room we discovered more details that were personalized and so pretty! Michael credited his wife for all of the beautiful decor that everyone was enjoying.
During the speeches we listened to stories about the bride and groom, how kind and loving Michael was and Victoria who would go above and beyond for her loved ones. Family recounted their love story and happy they were to watch their love grow.
I wish you both the very best in your new life together as husband and wife and thank you for including me on your special day!

We were worried about the weather, December can be a bit unpredictable for weather here in New Brunswick. The day began with beautiful sunshine but freezing cold temperatures and bitter winds. We all commented that is was perfect for travel! The roads were clear and there was no worry for travelling guests! Knowing that the ceremony set was unheated, Jeff quickly went to the the little church in Bethel, that had been Julie’s family church, to light the fire to warm the building to their ceremony. The little church is significant to Julie’s family, the simple beauty of the old pews and the cozy atmosphere was the perfect place for Julie and Jeff to say their vows before their family and friends.
The groomsmen and the bridesmaids giggle and laughed while preparing, both Julie and Jeff looked so happy that this day had finally arrived! Julie was adamant that for once she would NOT be late! The girls were prepping at the Algonquin Resort in St Andrews and the groomsmen at the groom’s brother’s home.
The cold weather weather kept us inside for the majority of the wedding and we were able to use the Algonquin’s beautiful Rotunda Room with beautiful warm sunshine pouring through the windows! The reception and dance were held at the Huntsman Aquarium.
I wish you all the best Julie and Jeff!!
