These beautiful sisters are near and dear to my heart. They may not only happen to be relatives of my husband but they are my daughter Cecilia’s playmates. They are understanding and sweet. They are guaranteed to make you smile with their funny comments (Dixie told me she had the memory of a goldfish!).
They also happen to be a photographer’s dream, not only are they all beautiful but they were so well behaved (this is a testament to the incredible parenting)!
They were excited to see the pretty dresses I brought with me (just making it easier for families, no worrying about finding clothes that match when I can provide some frilly little dresses that will photographer well).
They were so proud of their new baby sister and kept telling me how cute and pretty she was but my favourite moment was when their mama stepped outside in the gown they quietly exclaimed how pretty she was!
Thank you Ashley for allowing me to capturing you and your dear little girls!!!

I want you to meet Jennifer!
I have worked with a few different assistants for various sessions and they have been awesome! The studio has been becoming busier and busier and it was time to finally have someone more permanent.
Why an assistant? Especially after working so many years without one unless necessary (like twins!)? Working with an assistant makes your session go so much smoother. There is someone to grab a prop or change a set up while the other holds baby.
Ours Moms are recovering from childbirth, both parents are learning to deal with sleep deprivation so this is our way of pampering you! You can sit back, relax, watch the session from only a few feet away and enjoy yourself with no need to get up and help.
Jennifer is the second set of hands and eyes that are trained to spot and keep your baby safe. Some props, poses and babies require a second set of hands.
Having someone to join the team has been a fun and exciting experience. There were so many incredible people who applied and it took a few days to narrow down the applicants. Jennifer and I have been friends for many years (we were on the same cheerleading squad in high school!) and I respect her professionalism in her own small business with Jamberry .

We celebrated New Year’s Eve in our studio by welcoming the last baby boy of the year!
This session was inspired by his nursery which was decorated by Saint John’s premier designer Judith Mackin, from Punch Inside Interior Design. When Jen and David first booked with me and explained what they were looking for as far styling of the newborn session, I was excited because I also follow Judith’s blog and her amazing Before and After Makeovers. I was familiar with their blog post and decor! This made deciding what props to use very easy because they knew exactly what they wanted.
To keep with their colour theme we stayed with a palette of black, white and grey. The style was kept clean, simple and very modern. Their little man was a perfect gentleman and we were able to complete his session in record time.
Thank you again for bringing him to our studio! It was a pleasure to meet your new family!

We began 2016 with this adorable new baby girl in the studio! She is a beautiful baby and we were quite excited to work with her (after so many boys in 2015 every girl is a treat!). She was also very curious to what was going on around her! She wasn’t very interested in sleeping and gave some great eye contact.
She made us work hard for every pose and it was completely worth it!

This brand new baby boy came in with his big sisters and they were such great helps! They both wanted to be involved in some possible way with his session. Both had the opportunity to be in the session and they also were so helpful by picking out colours and wraps. it is so much fun to have these little personal touches included.
A few images would not have been possibly without them helping! Some of the images look like babies are up in the air but we use a little photoshop magic, a helping hand and shooting with baby safely on the beanbag.
I enjoyed this session so much! This is a lovely family and his momma and I have known each other for a few years. When she inquired and let me know she had a brand new baby boy I couldn’t wait for them to arrive in the studio.
Thank you again for coming to Saint John for his session! It was fun working with your girls and meeting you new son!

Sessions with little babies can be a challenge because you are trying to make them smile….but this music loving baby was the exception! He smiled sweetly for the first part of his session and when our animal sounds started to wear thin his smart mama brought out a ukulele.
I first I thought she wanted to use it as a prop but NO! The moment she strummed her fingers along the strings he burst into smiles and belly laughs! His giggles were contagious and soon we were all laughing and giggling with him!
His milestone baby session was in classic neutral colours and with a touch of fun with red suspenders!
