Michelle & Mitchell | Camp Medley Wedding

Can I love this couple enough? It has been an incredible journey with Michelle and Mitchell! Michelle is a planner and booked me two years in advance. When we booked her engagement pictures she had a BIG secret that no one else knew but shared with me, she was expecting!

We schemed and planned a way to capture Mitchell learning he would be a father! Fast forward to little Fenwick making them a family and their newborn session to finally October 13, 2018, their wedding day.

The weather threatened rain but only sprinkled a handful of raindrops the entire day (but it was very chilly!). Michelle was relaxed and had that bridal glow! I don’t think I ever saw Mitchell smile so big all day! Surrounded by their family and friends they were married in the simple little chapel at Camp Medley. It was standing room only and not a single person complained because they were so happy to see them married. My favourite moment was when their best man and maid of honour were signing the wedding papers and Michelle and Mitchell were alone at the altar. Holding hands, smiling, staring at the rings they had only moments before exchanged.

Their reception was sweet, filled with laughter and all around were the evidence of Michelle’s hard work. The decor and the day were was flawless. The ideal plan had been for sunset pictures but the overcast clouds threw that out the window and instead we headed back to the sweet chapel, in the dark, we did some nighttime photos that were unique to them and location.

Thank you, Michelle and Mitchell! It has been an honour and privilege being asked to document your story, watch your family grow, meeting sweet Fenwick and meeting your family and friends.

Claire and Mitchell Married

Their story began before they were even born. Claire and Mitch are from two families that were very close many years ago, their fathers shared stories of when they were roommates, met their wives and began their families. There were even baby pictures of the bride and groom. As time went by their families drifted apart but somehow Claire and Mitch found each other again and promptly fell in love. Their whirlwind romance and love story was welcomed by all their family and friends who were present to see this couple be married in the same church that the groom’s parent had been married in years before.

The day was sunny but one of the coldest days of the year but it did not stop the couple from going uptown and outside for their portraits, from the historic Saint John City market to King Square and the Imperial.

Their reception, at Lily Lake Pavilion, was filled with laughter and stories of all of the bridal party, rapping from the amazing maid of honour (the bride’s sister) and speeches from their Dad’s. This is the second time I have had the chance to work with the Mitch’s family. It was only July when we were at Ticklebelly Hill with Hannah and BJ, this time they were the MC and groomsmen, and it felt like working with old friends.

Claire and Mitchell, thank you for asking me to capture your special day, finishing 2017 with your wedding was wonderful. Claire kept repeating it was a perfect day and as you can see it was a perfect day. I wish you both all the best that life will bring you and your family.

wedding couple standing in a field in Ganong Park, St Stephen, new Brunswick

St Stephen Wedding Photographer

Melissa and Eduardo met by chance in Florida and when she returned to Canada she could not stop thinking about him. The distance did not prove a deterrent and they continued their relationship, long distance between Florida and New Brunswick. On Saturday, before their family and friends they repeated their vows in a St Stephen wedding, held at Ganong Park.

August 12th was overcast and rain but it did not dampen their spirits! The wedding party was lighthearted and braved the weather and drizzle. Everyone kept checking the weather radar which said there would be breaks here and there and by the end of the day we could see the sun was trying to peak out from the fog! This pretty wedding was a DIY and the hero of the day was the brides mother, even the bridesmaid’s dresses were sewn by her! Eduardo’s family and friends flew in from Florida and Puerto Rico and his best ‘man’ was his best ‘woman’. Before the bride and guests arrived, the best woman and the groom both fussed and made sure that the aisle and decorations were perfect for this important day.

Melissa’s dream was to have her formal pictures taken in St Andrews, the timeline of her day was very tight and she made to sure keep a careful eye on the clock to make it happen. She is incredibly close to her family and every year they have a family gathering at Centennial Park in St Andrews. To her this represented family, love and happiness and she wanted her wedding pictures, with Eduardo, to be in this special place. I am so glad we were able to accommodate her wishes!

Afterwards, we escaped quickly to Water Street and the crowds of tourists shouted their congratulations to the couple. We finished and returned to their reception.

Eduardo and Melissa are so loved by their family and friends and this wedding day was a beautiful celebration and reflection of that love. I am so glad to have been able to be their wedding photographer and to meet both of their families! I wish you all the best!!

A wedding couple having pictures done at Centennial Park in St Andrews NB

Wedding in St Andrews NB | Sangeetha and Noel

On July 29th, I did not plan on shooting a wedding in St Andrews NB. However, I had the opportunity to head back to Kingsbrae Gardens and Hillside to meet the sweetest family and friends of Sangeetha and Noel! They had a beautiful wedding planned, with all of their loved ones at Kingsbrae Gardens but their wedding photographer from India was unable to make it, last minute. Sangeetha reached out to several photographers, only a few of weeks before the big day and found so many to be booked. The New Brunswick photographer community is quite small and extremely supportive and immediately began reaching out, through their networks, to every photographer. Who was free this day? Who could help this couple out? Sangeetha said they were surprised at how other photographers rallied and were able to give her a list the choose from!

She reached out and called from her home in Ontario and I knew this was going to be a perfect match! She is sweet, down to earth and so laid back! The Tuesday before the wedding we did their engagement session and Saturday arrived before we knew it!

Both had incredible people standing up with the in their weddings parties! The Groomsmen were fun, polite and looking forward to seeing their friend be married to the love of his life. Sangeetha’s sweet bridesmaids kept smiling at her with joy and were so happy she had met someone who made her so happy!

The details that Sangeetha put into her day were lovely! From the beaded shawl for Mass, to the seashell tiara she felt suited the St Andrews by the Sea and the gorgeous veil that she and Noel created themselves!

Thank you Sangeetha and Noel for reaching out and I am so happy I was able to be a part of this amazing day for the both of you and meeting your amazing family and friends!! I am so glad I was able to capture an additional wedding in St Andrews!

Kingsbrae Gardens Wedding | St Andrews | Laura and Chris

Laura and Chris celebrated their marriage at Kingsbrae Gardens, in St Andrews by the Sea. The evening before the storm clouds rolled in and the thunder and lightning cracked but come morning the sun was shining and promising a perfect July day! 2017 has brought so many rainy Saturdays, I was feeling so thankful that we would have no worry of fog or rain for the entire day!

Before the ceremony the couple had a quiet and private First Look. They were able to see each other privately and have a moment alone together. We then began to go shoot pictures, of just the bride and groom, throughout the garden, before we met up with the wedding party. With ample time this allowed us to go to different locations, like the Block House an Centennial Park.

One thing I love about weddings is getting to know my couples and also meeting both of their amazing families! I loved seeing what an amazing Aunt and Uncle this couple truly is to their small nieces and nephews! Laura expressed how happy she was that everyone was able to be there for this day.

My favourite moment for this wedding was during the speeches. Guests had been roaring with laughter over the hilarious stories! During Chris’s speech he paid tribute to one of his groomsmen, who he admired and called a true hero. The moment was touching and heartfelt. The day was planned to have a relaxed pace with ample time for for guests to enjoy the amazing meal prepared by Chef Alex Haun.

The evening was complete with the guests joining together on the dance floor to dance the night away!

This wedding I had Genevieve Flynn Photography second shooting with me, she is a wedding photographer from Norton.

Thank you Laura and Chris for asking me to be your wedding photographer! I enjoyed getting to know you both and it was an amazing day!

Hannah & BJ | Ticklebelly Wedding

Driving through the rain, Josh and I were staying hopeful that the weather would shift and gift the bride and groom with an outdoor wedding. We stopped first at , Hillside in St Andrews, where the girls were preparing for Hannah’s wedding. This was like walking into a room full of old friends! Majority of the bridesmaids (and bride!) were part of Emily and Kyle’s St Andrews wedding last year and Hannah’s family are amazing people. They instantly make you feel welcome when you enter a room. her parents were both so excited for their oldest daughter’s wedding, and their joy carried on throughout the day. Their family of five was growing by two, BJ and his daughter Devyn. Not only were they gaining a new son but a sweet little granddaughter.

Hannah could not wait for me to see Hillside! One of St Andrews Historic homes that was nestled between Katy’s Cove and the Algonquin (where the boys were getting ready!). This house had everything a photographer and bridal party could ever want; big huge windows, white walls and interesting furniture. The best feature was not the balcony but the gorgeous porch! I did not fear the rain because I knew we could always use that front porch for gorgeous pictures! The rain did lift, the spirits were high and we had a blast photographing the girls and guys!

Arriving at Ticklebelly Hill for the ceremony and reception, guests were amazed by the decorating efforts of Hannah and Natasha’s Weddings and Events. Details through the barn from roses and greenery, to a smores bar, antique tea cups for coffee and tea and gorgeous place settings. Every corner had the perfect touches and no detail was missed.

The ceremony was over within minutes and before the bride and groom could let it sink in, the speeches began. Roars of laughter filled the barn as every member of the wedding party had past transgressions, fashion disasters and rap hobbies dragged out and paraded for all the guests to howl over. The MC’s reminded the guests that they had here, a bride and groom who felt that their day was bigger then the nation’s 150th celebration. Looking around the overpacked barn at Ticklebelly Hill In Oak Bay, NB you could only agree. Family and friends came from all over, to see this amazing couple be married and to party the night away with good food, stories and dancing.

Thank you Hannah and BJ for having me as your wedding photographer, it was amazing!
