Carol had called me and said they were getting married outdoors, in St Andrews, overlooking the water. I was so excited for this wedding! Carol and Zack’s wedding day in St Andrews was focused around their family, friends and DIY touches. When Josh and I pulled up to the venue at the Hunstman Aquarium, we saw family and friends scurrying around setting up and being overseen and directed by the wedding coordinator, Sarah Conley of Celebrations by Sarah. Sarah was not only the wedding coordinator but also a bridesmaid! Carol told us the groomsmen had left to get fresh lobster off the boat for the reception, while the bridesmaid were getting their hair and makeup done.
Carol was calm and all smiles watching her best friends and family getting pampered and pretty by the staff at Pure Esthetics. She talked about the bouquets which her mother had put together and her excitement of seeing her ‘girls’ in their dresses.
The hard work and careful overseeing eye from Sarah paid off because their day could not have been more perfect.
Carol was inspired by an image that she saw on Pinterest of a bride and groom who held hands on either side of a door, without seeing each other. No one estimated the impact that moment had for Carol and Zack, it was emotional, beautiful and was truly one of the most memorable.
Before the wedding even started we knew this wedding party was going to be fun, after all, the majority of them were from Deer Island and those folks know how to have a good time. They certainly did not disappoint!
Carol and Zack, thank you so much for asking us to document and be part of your wedding day. We were honoured at the privilege! Congratulations on your new journey as husband and wife!

A few weeks ago the entire family headed to Deer Island for an engagement session. I have never taken the rest of my crew with me to any of my sessions (and doubt I would again) however, this was a bit of a different circumstance. My husband grew up and played hockey with Zack. Carol I had only met a few months before but Carol is a bubbly, lovable person who you immediately like and know you will be friends with. Our first conversation was around our children and motherhood and her upcoming wedding plans.
My children were thrilled with the ferry ride and Carol and her boys were waiting for us on the other side. We headed to the campground and we had the run of the grounds which was perfect for busy little boys! The family session went quickly and then my husband took Carol’s two boys and my four children to play on the playground while Carol, Zack and I did their engagement session.
I normally do not provide babysitting services but could I say this worked out perfectly! Carol and Zack could relax and have a little fun, with no worries about the boys and the six kids wore each other out (what more could a parent ask for!).
Deer Island is beautiful and my couple were more the willing to climb down on some rocks for a gorgeous shot! While editing I gushed and gushed about Carol’s gorgeous hair!
I cannot wait for their St Andrew’s wedding this weekend!

They met at the gym in Alberta. Stephanie said it was just for coffee that then turned into lunch, which turned into dinner. She and Jason may have been from opposite ends of the country but they were meant to be together.
Stephanie and Jason are two of the most adorable couples I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Their love for each other is apparent through their actions. From Stephanie becoming a die hard Nascar fan that would rival Jason’s own devotion for the sport or their engagement that Jason planned, which included Vegas, an amazing restaurant, and involving the staff at the restaurant for presenting the ring.
Together, with family and friends from all over Canada and some from the United States, they joined their lives in a beautiful ceremony in St Andrews, NB at the Kingsbrae Gardens. Their wedding was perfect. No detail was overlooked and the weather cooperated with an unusually warm spring day.
Thank you Stephanie and Jason for the honor of including us in your lovely day. Your family and friends were so amazing and we hope for the best in your future together!
