They met at the gym in Alberta. Stephanie said it was just for coffee that then turned into lunch, which turned into dinner. She and Jason may have been from opposite ends of the country but they were meant to be together.
Stephanie and Jason are two of the most adorable couples I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Their love for each other is apparent through their actions. From Stephanie becoming a die hard Nascar fan that would rival Jason’s own devotion for the sport or their engagement that Jason planned, which included Vegas, an amazing restaurant, and involving the staff at the restaurant for presenting the ring.
Together, with family and friends from all over Canada and some from the United States, they joined their lives in a beautiful ceremony in St Andrews, NB at the Kingsbrae Gardens. Their wedding was perfect. No detail was overlooked and the weather cooperated with an unusually warm spring day.
Thank you Stephanie and Jason for the honor of including us in your lovely day. Your family and friends were so amazing and we hope for the best in your future together!

I cannot believe and I don’t want to believe but she is nine months old. My baby Cecilia, is growing up too fast. She has decided that laying around is for the birds and is now creeping all over the place. She wowed us with sitting up on her own this evening. Yells at her siblings for attention. Is the apple of her Daddy’s eye and a million other little details that only us Mothers find amazing.
My older three kiddos all play soccer a few evenings a week, Josh coaches and this gives Cecilia and I some time alone together. Time alone with me usually means a photoshoot. I like to mark occasions, small things, or just get a picture of them in cute clothes but I figured turning 9 months old (in a few days) counts as an important moment. Actually, this was the first time she had ever been on grass. I know from experience some babies hate the feeling. I was prepared and armed with a blanket but once again my happy girl thought grass was GREAT and was awesome to pull and eat…
Reggie, one of my yorkies, decided he was going join in the action and had his picture taken a few times.
I am behind on my blogging but my Mommy Goggles declares that my kids get to come first, lol.

My sister and her husband were home from Fredericton on Mother’s Day and we did her maternity session indoors because it was raining. I love to shoot outdoors and I had the perfect spot picked out but sometimes being a photographer is about being flexible.
Normally, my mother would give us an evil glare and lecture (worth avoiding) if we dared to touch or move some of the furniture or decorations in her home but my mom is one of my greatest supporters and gave me free reign to utilize any room in her house as I wish. I removed wall hangings, pillows, curtains and furniture to give the spot I was photographing in less items that would compete for attention. I want the focus on my subjects and not on the little decorations in the room (I commonly do this with all my clients when shooting in their homes.
Even though the day was gloomy, grey and dark I still was able to find some pretty light for Samantha’s session. She and Patrick are eagerly awaiting their first child, a little boy that they are planning to call Joseph. Samantha also reminded me that for the first time I will be an aunt! I love documenting special moments like these in my family’s and client’s lives.

Every month I (try to) write a series called ‘Letters to Our Daughters’…
Dearest Cecilia,
Everyday you discover something new. At 8 months you are still so very new to this world and have the dearest personality.
Your favorite food is custard, you cannot get enough.
Your favorite toy is a cross between Sophie the giraffe and the toy remote control (which is horribly loud and obnoxious with sounds and music but you love that).
You now hate having your bottom changed or clothing being changed and try to alligator roll.
You adore your brother Peter, he must stop, hold and cuddle you after school or you yell at him.
We have finally established a routine with you, in some ways I love knowing when you will be having your naps but in other ways it has cut out our flexibility.
You can sit unassisted but we have to help you get there, you are still not sitting up but you are trying to crawl…more like a belly shimmy;)
You are LOUD. You like to talk over your siblings!
The days are warmer and you are loving the lighter clothes and the bare toes.
You still ‘play shy’, you should realize people just want to kiss your chubby cheeks because you are so cute.
You don’t play in the tub, you just sit and look around.
You have overcome your aversion to the stroller and now enjoy our walks, even if they include wearing a frivolous smocked hat.
You have the funniest ‘non’-laugh that no one can get enough of! It is more of a grunt, never a full belly laugh. The result is that we all end of laughing while listening to your grunts.
I cannot believe you were not always with us and I also revel at the newness of you. I will never get tired of you.

Josh and I have been feeling like winter never wanted to let go but on Good Friday we could feel Spring finally arriving and went to spend a day in St Andrews NB! We packed up the kids, dug the stroller out of storage and headed out. St Andrews has been a favorite place for us to escape to for years, the tourist season has not hit yet and the streets are very quiet but perfect for our little gang to run around and explore.
The kids had a great time running down Water Street, pearing into the closed stores, asking when tourist season would begin. They were a little louder than we we would normally allow them to be but seeing the streets were empty we let them have a little freedom.
They explored the Blockhouse, asked a million questions, the same questions they ask every year but somehow that never gets old. Climbing the canons has proved to be an easier task now that they are a bit older and competitions quickly erupted to who could climb to the top the quickest.
With the tide slowly making its way to the shore and the chill creeping into the air, headed back to our van.

Every single session I have done has included this question: What do I wear? What should I wear? Folks you are bang on by asking for advice!
The more planning you put into your wardrobe choice(s), the more your portraits go up a notch. It looks more professional, more put together and the right clothing will give your pictures a timeless look.
I started righting this lovely long post but instead decided to give you a visual.
On my Pinterest board you can see over 30 different ideas for family photos…colour schemes and styles.
I keep adding to those list and I am have been working on a few boards to add myself, from stores that are in Saint John, to make it a little easier (in my abundant free time, lol) These boards will give you some great ideas on what to look for when planning your wardrobes.
Last session I had a great client who put so much thought and planning into her wardrobe and I have to say it really showed! Her outfits were gorgeous, the pictures were stunning. Perfect colours, great fits, she looked amazing. I honestly cannot gush more because she made my job so easy!
