The year has passed quickly and now he is one! The last time I saw this family was for Jamie’s newborn session. I have been watching this family grow with his parent’s first maternity session for his big sister and all of the milestones in between. They are the sweetest couple and I feel it has been a privilege to watch them grow into the family that they are today! When Mom booked this session and reminded me that he was turning one I was excited to see how big he has grown!
Julianna was extremely helpful and very complying! She want to please and took direction very easily, she really is a dream to work with! Not only is she cute but she gives REAL smiles with the tiniest touch of fun/sass that gives the pictures a little sparkle. Jamie is a typical one year old. Very cute, delightful and very curious! He found little areas in the studio he wanted to explore and we chased him around and convinced him that in front of the camera was the best place to be.
During the ordering session his Mom was surprised we managed to capture certain set ups and that is the typical way it always turns out! It is capturing those split second moments when they look into the camera before they are off to explore. Swinging them back into place so they feel it is fun and photoshopping Mom, who is inches from them, out of the picture. At the end of the time frame everyone is tired and a little sweaty from all of the up and down and back and forth but it is worth it!
I never know what I will get with toddlers but with this family I know I will be able to photograph amazing memories of their little ones at this stage.

I had the opportunity to travel to Miranda O’Leary’s studio again to help her photograph the triplets girls for their first birthday! Miranda is an amazing family photographer and she and I had so much fun planning this session! I had time to get a bit crafty and sewed together a few cute little outfits and created the floral hats. Miranda created the beautiful 3d flowers for the back drop and Sugar Mamas matched the cakes to fabric and floral swatches!!
The end result was amazing! These little girls were SOOOO busy and sweet!! Once again it took a crew of helpers and we were sweating and tired after the session (there was quite a bit of clean up!) but we knew it was going to be amazing!
It was hard to believe that these special little girls were already a year old! In their short life they have overcome many obstacles and have brought so much joy to their family’s lives! Celebrating their first birthday in their christening gowns, with an updated family picture and finishing with a cake smash was a perfect way to commemorate this occasion! I am so thankful I had the opportunity to work with them again!
(and I realize I am late blogging this session!)

When planning cake smashes with clients I love receiving emails that read, ‘something pink and frilly’! I have been capturing this sweet family from the birth of their first son, his first birthday, Olivia’s arrival, Christmas and now her first birthday!! During her newborn session we incorporated some tiny bright pink flowers in one setup and for her cake smash I wanted to keep the theme going.
Some evening crafting and delicate little pink flowers were created!
We had fun changing her setup a few times and outfits and finally the cake smash…or cake ‘touch’? Olivia was as dainty and girly as always and barely touched her cake (she did give it a good FLIP!), but was still a delight to photograph.

A couple of weeks ago was bittersweet because it was the end of this baby’s first year. He has grown so much since he first came to the studio as a sweet little newborn and again outside for his milestone session of sitting up and now here we are, the end of year one. He was a bit more serious and still gorgeous and sweet.
It was a joy to be able to watch this little guy grow up.

Rosalie has turned one! (for those who do not know Rosalie is the youngest of my five children) It does not feel that long ago since we did her newborn session! I really wanted to have a cake smash with her and go a little over the top with her pictures. They are only little for such a short time and the year went by too fast. She will be our last baby and I have been trying to take in everyone moment and enjoy these special milestones.
We have had quite a few inquiries and we have decided we will be offering cake smashes in studio! A perfect add on for a one year session, something fun to celebrate their first birthday, with the traditional Enchanted Hill styling of simple elegance.
For Rosalie’s cake smash we wanted something a little fun, girlish and frilly. We went with the current popular trend of pink and gold, added the stars from the Enchanted Hill logo and some pretty ruffles and the result was sweet and perfect

Her mom had the sweetest idea of a tea party, to celebrate birthday number two with a simple vintage feel and the end results were beautiful! Incorporated where some china dishes that belonged to her family, her beloved teddy bear and a few little touches from the studio prop collection. This session was full of energy and dancing and singing to kept this busy toddler’s attention and the end result are the sweetest memories! We were able to capture her giggles, her sense of humour and a soft sweet serious side.
I love when clients return to me for sessions! There is something so special about watching a family grow, as I have with this sweet family! I have had the pleasure of photographing their maternity and her newborn pictures and now her birthday pictures! Where did the time go?
Thank you guys for coming back again and I cannot wait to see your family again in the future!
